Decades of Design Comes Together In A Dreamy Brooklyn Wedding Venue

Fact: we’re film people. My team and I never planned to get into the wedding business, but over time our spaces grew larger and my design aesthetic seemed to draw in the brides and grooms. What began as a business built on hosting film and photo shoots has expanded to spaces that somehow seem to cater to everyone: the shoots, the weddings, the baby showers, the 60th birthday celebrations, the team offsites, and our favorite: the community gatherings.

I’ve been reflecting on this trajectory and meditating on what brought us here. I think, ultimately, design has everything to do with it.

Thinking back to our roots, what has always set Shell’s Loft apart has been our spaces—spaces that are large enough to host an 80-person gathering while still feeling like you’re in someone’s living room. Expansive yet cozy. Comfortable, yet elevated. Spaces that we could spend all day and night in (and sometimes we do).

The most recent iteration of this is Shell’s Loft Fort Greene. We’ve come home to our origin neighborhood, just up the street from Clinton Hill.
