Shell's Loft is run by a super small team of rebel brown girls, Shell Martinez (Owner & Creative Director) and Cass Lemaine (Loft Manager). We work as a team, managing the venue and assisting our clients to produce successful events. A pair of on-site virtuosos with a passion for building community who love using the space to connect the endlessly interesting, passionate, visionary people of Brooklyn.

Mardi Miskit of Brooklyn Fork & Spoon is our health-conscious private chef and reiki practitioner who offers catering, on-site cooking, and private reiki sessions for our clients. Her creativity comes to life when developing and conceptualizing health-supportive, mostly plant-based recipes and menus. Before joining forces with the Shell’s Loft team, she spent several years hosting an internationally recognized supper club, catering events, and cooking at Saltie in Williamsburg.

kind words

This place is as spectacular as the photos. It’s hard to believe that a place this size still exists in Brooklyn! We felt spoiled all weekend long and it was the perfect space for our Writer’s Retreat. I highly recommend it for company or creative Retreats of any kind. It’s a glorious space and it exceeded all of my expectations. We will definitely book here again.
A group of 8 of us were so fortunate to book this beautiful loft. Gorgeous exposed brick, huge projection wall, an inspiring industrial design and furnished for comfort and entertaining. Shell, our host, was so welcoming and helpful in providing local recommendations.
Shell’s loft is 100% as advertised. Spacious, high-ceilings, airy, well-appointed, spotless and in a great neighborhood. Her place also comes with everything you could want or need.
Our cheese team had an amazing experience at Shell’s loft. It was a much needed oasis during a very busy weekend! Cass made sure our every need was tended too—even setting up the projector for us last minute.
